Aimee Mercedes Jex

Aimee Jex has been practicing counseling in Belize since March 2013.  Apart from working with adults, adolescents, families, children, couples and organizations, she is a board member of the Mental Health Association that works toward creating awareness of mental health in the country. Aimee Jex completed a Master in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling at the Florida International University.  She completed her practicum at the Psychiatric Unit of Miami Children’s Hospital and has also worked at community mental health centers, in research programs and with at-risk youth, and she has taught at the high school and the college level.  Additionally, she has been a human resources consultant, expert witness for the court, researcher, assistant, and program design consultant.  She is also a lector at St. Ignatius Church and sometimes appears on local media.
