Elicia Deysi Habet was born in Belize City and raised in Dangriga Town. Ever since she was thirteen years old, she had decided to pursue the path of becoming a psychologist and to make some sort of contribution to her home, Belize.
Her approach to therapy is to first create an environment of unconditional acceptance. She adopted an eclectic take on therapy tailoring treatment to the needs of her clients. Her goal is to always help the clients achieve their goals and to arm them with the tools they need to no longer be needing her.
Elicia Habet works independently as a licensed psychotherapist at the Belmopan Medical Centre and created her own business brand named Uniquely You Counselling. Elicia Deysi Habet was born in Belize City and raised in Dangriga Town. Ever since she was thirteen years old, she had decided to pursue the path of becoming a psychologist and to make some sort of contribution to her home, Belize.
The pursuit of this dream started with attending Saint John’s Junior College. Elicia acquired an associate’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. She then attended National Dong Hwa University in Hualien, Taiwan. This is where she obtained a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree of Science in Clinical and Counselling Psychology.
Now that she has returned home in May 2019, she has had several opportunities to gain experience in the field. Elicia was the Psychology Adjunct Lecturer in the University of Belize for the Introduction to Psychology program, a mental health therapist at the Counselling and Psychological Services, hosted an online show with Globe Calm debating many mental health topics. She is an Employee Assistance Program provider for the Ministry of Public Services, a Diamond Grapple Arts Mixed Martial Arts coach to children and adults, a Belize Brain Awareness Society volunteer and partner and is now working independently in her own practice called Uniquely You Counselling.
She has recently partnered with the Belize Brain Awareness Society to help with the mental health movement. She believes strongly that if we all work together, we can change to become a much more caring society and to help with the stigmatization of mental health.
She enjoys working with clients of all ages. Elicia can create an environment of unconditional acceptance. She adopted an eclectic take on therapy tailoring treatment to the needs of her clients. Her goal is to always help clients achieve their goals and live a life that they are fully alive. Her uniquely you motto is “the best in me serving the best in you.”
